Sewphisticated grew out of my love for beautiful fabrics and timeless pieces of furniture. In recent years I had grown weary of my limited choices with local furniture stores and noticed a common thread - no matter where I shopped, there was an apparent lack of quality.
My love of sewing steadily grew as I created beautiful pillows and window treatments for my home. After a while, I began sewing and doing small upholstery projects for family and friends. Word quickly spread and I realized it simply made sense to do what I love and help others realize the limitless possibilities they have in designing their own custom, one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture.
Sewphisticated represents the elegant look, comfortable feel and expert craftsmanship my clients can expect from us every time.

I've always had a passion for art. Painting, drawing and sculpture were some of my favorites growing up and I pursued that passion in college along with psychology and obtained my B.A. in Art Therapy. It was my hope to use various art modalities as a means to help people communicate their emotions, traumas and experiences during therapy. While my career path veered away from the Arts to the Legal Industry, I always maintained a passion for creating, fabricating, designing and dreaming of ways to make my home and my world more colorful. Whether I was drawing or painting a room, re-staining a piece of furniture, I loved to master new techniques and always create something more beautiful.
I spent almost 14 years in the Legal Industry, followed by 5 years in Radio Broadcasting assisting in both technical and legal aspects of getting FM signals on the radio Nationwide.
My professional career was put on hold after the birth of my triplets. Yes TRIPLETS! I stepped away from business for a while to learn a new role, motherhood. Despite my busy life, I continued to find ways to be creative - painting walls, refinishing dressers, staining sidetables and eventually tackling home interiors - window treatments, pillows and cushions.
When I decided to reupholster my first ever upholstery project, a wingback chair, I quickly resolved that if someone else could do it, then so could I. That chair began the upholstery addiction I now have made into a business.
I love that my childhood passion has become a business that allows me to stay at home with my 9 year old boys, Matthew, Jacob and Liam. I have the artistic freedom to create whatever I can imagine and love that others appreciate the skills and vision I have pursued my whole life.
The best reward is seeing the same passion for upholstery ignited in my own sons and knowing they are able to do whatever they put their minds to.
